New photos: ‘Pretty sights’
July 17th, 2007 Posted in picsI’ve added a new album named ‘pretty sights’ to my gallery. A few weeks ago i tried to capture the contrast of really dark pre-rainstorm skies with brightly illuminated foregrounds because i very much like how these dark skies make all colours stand out more
Also there’s a picture of a nice cloud over the new Nedstat office building, and a pic of some berries in my mom’s backyard.
PS: i’ve also rearranged my other pictures a bit, filing them in a parent-album by category rather than having all events directly under the ‘root’. If you link to any of my pictures on your site you may want to check if that still works ![]()

oeh! me likes!
specially the one with the church steeple, and the extremely dark sky above it. I think I know when you took that picture, that was one heck of a thunderstorm

Hehe thanks. I must say i ‘cheated’ a bit by adjusting the lighting manually. IMO the camera likes to ‘add’ a lot of light to pictures in general, by flashing a bit more enthousiastically than i would like or prolonging the shutter time making blurryness far more likely. Oh well, i guess that’s just part of the whole autofocus point-and-shoot territory; and the upside is that i can still tweak part of those settings, i just need to learn which/when

Using manual settings isn’t cheating at all, especially when they result in such nice images
